The Sourcing Assistant supports a Sourcing Manager or Associate Sourcing Manager to coordinate and maintain a reliable vendor base that meets Lands' Ends business requirements and quality standards.
Position Analysis 1. Communicate and follow up with vendors, mills and business partners on a daily basis. 2. Act as liaison between Merchant, Design, Supply/Purchasing, vendors, and agents. 3. Monitor, track and manage critical product develop calendar milestones. 4. Manage data for weekly production meetings, including production work in progess (WIP). 5. Assist Sourcing Manager and/or Sr. Sourcing Specialist to make seasonal placements. 6. Coordinate handoff to Supply/Purchasing team for order placements. 7. Perform daily responsiblities as directed by Sourcing Manager or Associate Sourcing Manager. Support other team members as needed.
Required Skills 1. Strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication. 2. Ability to prioritize by managing multiple tasks and to meet production deadlines. 3. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. 4. Demonstrate flexibility and work independently in a fast paced business environment. 5. Uses proactive approach to identify, analyze and problem solve. 6. Good analytical and problem solving skills. 7. Attention to detail. 8. Excellent follow through. 9. Meets/exceeds job performance in current role.
Preferred Skills 1. PC proficient with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Word.
2. Education, course work or previous experience in textiles/apparel manufacturing. Knowledge of product - interest to learn/willingness. 3. Familiarity with product development process and resources helpful.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
