BASIC FUNCTION: Key Role Outcomes Expected - Maintains Brand Integrity and implements business strategies, in conjunction with Product Development Manager, to maximize margin, quality and brand goals. Assists in managing the product development process, from idea evaluation through introduction to market, ensuring design intention and merchant pricing/assortment strategies are achieved. Partners with Design, Merchandising, Technical Design and Vendors in initial prototype/ sample development.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES:
Assists Product Development Manager to drives product development and serves as an interface with Design teams Proactively identifies product engineering opportunities and effectively partners to ensure execution Develops processes and systems related to product development Recommends vendor strategies to support ongoing development needs Recommends relative costing strategies and its related application Performs advanced needs assessment, in conjunction with Product Developers, and designs/delivers precise prototypes, in partnership with vendor base, with the appropriate taste and aesthetic levels. Builds strong cross-functional partnerships with Design, Pre-Production, Production, Mills/vendors and overseas teams and intuitively knows when to effectively leverage KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Education: Bachelors degree in Merchandising or equivalent business experience.
Experience: 3-5 yrs experience in product development or its equivalent. Required Competencies:
