The Senior Market Research Manager is a hands-on research practitioner and leader responsible for primary customer research at Lands' End. Through utilizing a broad range of qualitative and quantitative research techniques, you will provide the voice of the customer to help understand Lands' End's target customer segments, diagnose current customer behavior across direct and retail channels, and provide customer insights to drive future planning in marketing, merchandising and customer service. To deliver on the learning agenda, you will manage projects directly, as well as manage internal resources, vendor partners and 3rd party resources.
The Sr. Market Research Manager maintains strong relationships with members of the marketing, merchandising, retail, customer service and international teams. The leader of this team must be comfortable sharing customer insights with the executive team as well as globally across Lands' End, to facilitate understanding and optimization of our products, services and the multi-channel customer experience overall.
Responsibilities:
Provide end to end consulting for research projects from defining the research objectives through communicating out results and connecting the dots between research and other customer information Manage customer research learning agenda across Lands' End Maintain a global and multichannel perspective, broadly sharing knowledge and insights across countries Be passionately in tune with latest market research techniques, consumer behavior and trends Proactively identify opportunities for better meeting customer needs through products and services Partner cross-functionally and with senior leadership of marketing to ensure alignment on research objectives Lead and coach team members for success Manage internal team, research vendors and 3rd party resources to build productive relationships and maximize value received Prudent management of research and database budgets Requirements:
BS or BA required in Sociology, Psychology, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or other related fields with emphasis in quantitative methods; MS, MBA or MA with strong quantitative focus preferred Five
years experience with gradually increasing level of responsibility in leading a research function Proven track record of developing customer insights in a complex, multichannel, global business Significant experience with statistical testing in a survey research context Experience with wide range of qualitative techniques including, but not limited to, ethnography, shopalongs, IDIs, projective techniques, and focus groups Experience with wide range of quantitative and analysis techniques including, but not limited to, MaxDiff, conjoint/tradeoff, TURF and driver analysis Demonstrated ability to coach and lead high-performing teams Ability to create buy-in from multiple cross-functional constituents including senior management and international partners Exceptional written, presentation and oral communication skills Experience in, and significant understanding of, retail apparel industry strongly preferred Ability to adapt to rapidly changing work and priorities Ability to clearly communicate with and persuasively present to a wide variety of audiences, specifically senior managementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
